The Florida Legislative Research Center & Museum
(FLRC&M) is actively involved in organizing collections of significant legislative documents, recordings, and other artifacts. It also provides citizens with access to its records for purposes of research. Outreach programs are being developed to encourage program participation by schools and other civic organizations.
To accomplish its mission, the FLRC&M collects, preserves,
and makes available for research collections of materials
of members of the Florida Legislature, including papers,
photographs, oral histories, interviews, and related archival
materials. The FLRC&M accepts donations of historically
significant collections that document the role of the legislative
branch of government and its relation to the people of
Florida. The FLRC&M has no acquisition budget to purchase
collections and relies on the goodwill of citizens who
share the FLRC&M’s interest in preserving Florida’s
history to build its historical manuscripts research collection.
The FLRC&M does not collect, under most circumstances,
newspapers, or other non-archival materials, or archival
records not related to the members of the Florida Legislature.
